Please Note: Where there was a choice of languages, I have linked to the English version
of these sites and services. Most web sites in Canada offer a French version that can easily be reached from the
main page or through these links.
- beljob.ca / nicejob.ca
- ...the former Actijob is now nicejob.ca (English) or beljob.ca (French). They index the listings
found on participating sites and put them in a central location. You apply directly to the
employer. They occasionally scan the links to be sure the postings they link to are
still there.
- Anne Whitten Bilingual Human Resources Inc.
- ...general placement firm located in Toronto, Canada, specializing
in English/French bilingual employment. Check their list of
Hot Jobs for the most recent postings or submit a resume for
further consideration. All job listings are dated.
- Apprenticeship.com
- ...a service of the Halton Industry Education Council and the Canadian Government,
this site offers free information on apprenticeships. There are articles on
hiring trends and skill demands, marvelous information on each trade,
an employability skills quiz, and much more. This site covers opportunities
in the Kitchener/Waterloo (includes Cambridge, Guelph, Listowel, Mitchell,
St. Marys and Stratford), Peel-Halton-Dufferin, Hamilton, Niagara and
Brant/Brantford-Haldimand-Norfolk areas. I hope it expands as it is a
marvelous tool.

- ...pretty good looking database for this country. You can keyword search the
job listings, or browse listings by city or industry. Do all the searching you
want without registering, but you will need to register (free) to apply for
positions listed here.
- CACEE: The Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers
- CACEE is a national non-profit partnership of employer recruiters and career services professionals similar to NACE in the US.
This website offers information, advice, and services for its members. Students and non-members
have access to a schedule of career fairs and networking events, links to select
recruiters and career websites.
- CanadaWorkPermit.com
- ...contains significant information for persons hoping to obtain work permits
for this country. Register to participate in their free forums or apply for a free assessment of
your eligibility to obtain a temporary work visa for Canada. Please note that while the assessment
of your eligibility is free, you will be charged a fee if you decide to contract them to assist you
in obtaining a visa.
- CanadianCareers.com
- ....jobs and employment/career info for Canadians. Very nice selection of
occupations with references to sources for finding even more info and jobs.
Job seekers will also want to check the News and Events page for info on
upcoming career fairs and internship deadlines. Very nice, well rounded site
covering all facets of career and employment info for Canadians.
- Canadian Executive Recruitment
- ...recruiting professionals in Engineering, Operations/Production, Logistics/Materials
for a variety of Canadian manufacturing areas. Take a look at his suggestions for
interviewing, resumes, and follow-up letters.
- CanJobs.com
- ...nice gateway to hundreds of jobs for Canadians. You can work from the main
page or choose to go into their provincial databases and avoid the other stuff.
As usual, the IT jobs are the most prevalent, but they are not the only jobs here.
The links to additional sources are uneven, but those that link to specifically
Canadian companies, employment agencies, and other sources look good.
- Career Edge
- ...a private sector not-for-profit organization founded by Canadian employers offering 6, 9, or 12 month
internships to recent graduates of university, college and high school.
- Centre for Excellence in Home Building and Land Development
- ...while this site is more focused on the province of Alberta (specifically, the area around Calgary), much of the information found here can be applied across the entire country. This website is designed to introduce you to the home building industry, help you explore the many careers in this field, connect you to the right training program, and even find a job.
Information for educators is included.
- Charity Village
- "...Canada's busiest source for nonprofit jobs." It includes hundreds of job listings and continuing
ed opportunities for the sector. Browse the jobs by the posting date or search by keyword.
- Eluta
- ...a vertical search engine that specializes in finding new job announcements at employers across Canada. Notice that word - "employers." They do not index the job boards, only employer websites. No resumes stored here, but they do tie in some nice extras like links to Canada's Top 100 Employers and "New Grad" flags for employers listed in
The Career Directory, a guide to the best employers for this group. This is a part of the Mediacorp Canada Inc., Canada's largest publisher of employment periodicals.
- Employment News
- ...online companion to the free newspaper found all across Ontario (Canada).
Select a job category to see all positions in that category, but you can cut this
down to just those listings in your region. In addition, the site offers job tips, resume
tips, employer profiles, school profiles (for your education and training needs),
and news and events. There is also a resume database too which employers access
through a separate login.
- Extreme Jobs
- ...while they span industries and occupational families, this Canadian job board also has a separate area for
Resort and / or Adventure jobs. Users can freely review and apply for jobs posted here without restrictions.
- Grasslands Group
- ..."your direct connection to employment opportunities throughout Western Canada." Executive-level job seekers can register a confidential resume with this employment services / executive search firm, while all visitors can search their Job Board to review the many varied positions they are working to fill and register a resume for future consideration.
- Greater Toronto Job Classifieds
- ...free ads, free searching, job fairs listed, other resources too.
- Human Resources and Social Development Canada / Ressources humaines et Developpement social Canada
- This agency is responsible for the welfare and advancement of all peoples in
Canada, including Labour Market enhancement, lifelong learning, and family development.
- Service Canada's Job Bank
- ...a nice resource with jobs, a free resume database, and career information.
- Service Canada: Training & Careers
- ...straightforward, easy-to-use interface to assist Canadians in finding work and developing a career.
You’ll find strategies for evaluating your next steps in the career process, financial assistance, and job leads.
Recent immigrants can get help in the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website. The Gateway link
offers one stop shopping for Canadians in search of human services and helpful consumer, business, and
education information, all searchable by audience or topic.

- "Canada's online resource dedicated to job seekers and employers in the hospitality industry." Not all industry categories had listings at the time of review, but we did see good listings. Non-Canadian workers are encouraged to apply as there are employers willing to help sponsor your work visas should you qualify. Visitors can search the site,
review job listings, and forward resumes if employer contact information is visible, but registered users (free) can store a resume for employers to search and set up email notifications.

Nice site with lots of jobs. It's very easy for you to find things close to your home and target specific employers who interest you.
- National Research Council -- Conseil national de recherches du Canada
- ...Canada's premier science and technology research organization. They
have listings for experienced scientific professionals as well as students and
recent graduates. They list about 30 new positions each month,
each listing staying active for about 2 weeks.
- Nevian Consulting & Placement Services Inc.
- Based in Toronto, Ontario, Nevian specializes in the recruitment and
placement of bilingual professionals in a variety of disciplines. Some
"unilingual" positions also available.
- Now Hiring
- ...jobs, most of which are in the Calgary, Alberta area. You can search the database
and review the listings without registering, but will need to register (free) in order to
view the application info.
- +Jobs Canada
- ...search this site by keyword (title / skill / location), or scan all
the jobs, but that will take you some time.
- Sapphire Technologies
- ...IT jobs in Canada. Search by keyword or check the employer list.
- Possibilities Project
- ...virtual employment center for jobseekers in Toronto. Free registration is required for
users to access almost everything except for some articles on the front page. However,
registration only means giving them your name, phone number, and email address. It
does not mean posting your resume, so I recommend you go ahead and register. What
you will find in here is well worth the minute spent filling out their short form.
- Healthjobs.ab.ca
- "The Provincial Health Authorities of Alberta Virtual Recruitment Fair." Look for all kinds of
healthcare and medical positions in the province of Alberta. Besides the job listings, you
can review all kinds of information about living and working in Alberta.
- Public Service Commission of Canada
- Jobs with the Canadian Federal Government.
- Sympatico
- Canadian guide to information and news from all over the
country. Check out the business section for great career
articles.
- Vamos a Canada
- This consultancy assist persons wishing to study in, work in, or emigrate to Canada. They are targeted to persons from Spanish-speaking countries, which is why their site is available in English or Spanish. Please note that their services are not free and while they will help evaluate your chances of obtaining work in Canada they are not recruiters nor an employment agency.
- Working.com
- ... job leads from many of Canada’s daily newspapers. Search for jobs by category and
location, or use the advanced search to limit the dates and newspapers searched. You can
also register to post your resume or have job listings sent to you via E-mail. At the time of review, some of the events and external links were out of date. This defaults to Toronto, but you can switch to other locations and provinces by scrolling to the bottom of the page.
- WorkInNonProfits.ca
- ...supporting "Canada's non-profit sector by connecting non-profits across the country with job seekers as well as suppliers of services and products." You can easily search the job listings, and filling out a free registration allows you to create an email alert service. No resume database.
- Workopolis.com
- ..."Canada's biggest jobsite." I am inclined to believe them just by looking at
the front page. Search jobs by keyword, location, date, or who's "Now Hiring".
Take a look at some career resources. Registration is not required to search
the jobs, but if you register you can save searches and set up a CareerAlert
email service. Registration is also free and does not require you to submit your
resume unless you want to. Great resource center, full of articles and advice.

- ...Canada 's biggest job site for students and recent graduates. Registration is
required, and you must obtain a special access code from your campus career center
in order to view job postings.
- Canada's WorkInfoNet / Info-Emploi
- After nearly a decade of service, the national WorkInfoNET has ceased operation as the primary source of
career and training information for Canadian job seekers and career changers. However, the following
provincial agencies still offer these services and resources for you.

- ...good looking site with jobs crossing the many islands of this region. You do not need to register to view the listings, but for some you will need to fill in the registration and store a resume here. You do have the option of not
making your resume searchable.
- Caribbean Resourcing Solutions
- ...a Recruitment Agency in Trinidad & Tobago specializing in finding jobs for Computer Professionals. They ask contract professionals to register with them also as they get several short term vacancies that fill quickly. Please note that unless stated otherwise all job listings in Trinidad are for nationals only.
We also have resources for the Virgin Islands (U.S. and British)
and Puerto Rico.

- ...employment opportunities and resumes for Spanish-speaking professionals. Select a category
to view job openings and brief resumes or search by keyword. Job announcements and resumes
are all dated. Offerings are not limited to countries where Spanish is the primary language.

- ...a job search site for Central and South America. I've linked you to their
site for Mexico, but at the bottom of the page you will find links for
Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Venezuela, and their "international" site. Registration
is not required to search and view the listings, but it is required for you to
submit your resume for consideration. The sites are in the native languages
of the countries served (Spanish and Portuguese).
- Latin American Jobs
- ...country profiles, business news from many of the countries, and career advice are available to anyone visiting the site.
You must register before you have full access to the job listings.
- United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce
- ...contact information for Mexican Chambers of Commerce, a calendar of events,
and other links of interest to those doing business or looking for work in Mexico.
