...a directory of resources and services for actuaries and those entering this field, including a free job database. All postings indicate the Level of experience desired (from entry level with no exams to Fellow.) They say no posting is more than 60 days old, but I found older positions when I was looking. The date of posting is on the ad itself, but you can also weed out older positions when you look at the list by going for the higher Job Numbers.

Darwin Rhodes

...established in 1996, this firm specializes in the placement of actuarial, employee benefits, insurance and financial planning professionals. UK-based firm with international listings, including a few in the US. As with most recruiting firms showing only samples of their searches, these are not dated but you are encouraged to contact them with a resume for consideration.

Hewitt Associates UK Graduate Recruiting Site

...a specialized recruiting site established by Hewitt Associates to attract graduates of actuarial programs in the UK. "We are a specialist business consultancy. We listen to and advise many of the largest companies in the world, and many smaller ones too." They offer support as your work towards your certification. Internships are also available for college students. Specific qualifications are expressed on the application form. "We are a specialist business consultancy. Established in 1989, we are the largest firm dedicated to Actuarial Search and have a working relationship with most firms that employ Actuaries." They have continually updated samples of their current listings arranged by interest area and region.

Northstar International Insurance Recruiters

...actuarial and underwriting recruiting service. They cover "student" positions (those still looking for their certification) well into the $100K range. Position listings are brief with a link to submit your resume.

...for those of you in this field, here is the job site you can use without having to filter out all of the financial planner or CPA jobs. This site really does cover the world. You can easily search and review all job and employer listings without registering. You will need to register in order to submit a resume/CV in response to any listing found here, but this is free and will also allow you to set up job alerts, store resumes here, track your applications, and more.

Planet Audit

"The Home of Audit Jobs". Based in the UK, this international recruiting resource features numerous postings for auditing professionals around the world and across industry sectors. You can search all areas of the website, including articles and career advice, but access to the "Talk Audit" section and the ability to apply for jobs listed here are reserved for registered users (free but requires you upload your CV). However, if you are interested in working for some of the best employers around the world, this is the place to be. Take a look at the Recruiter Profiles (agency and employer) to get an idea of who is out there looking for auditors. Jobs are only posted for 4 weeks.

"CommodityCareers.com is a niche, on-line job portal and a research tool for employment in the global commodities marketplace. Our initial focus is the oil, gas, energy, coal and emissions, metals, environmental markets and agricultural markets, as well as alternative investments." This new site is still in beta, but is a unique offering in the online market. You can review the jobs without registering, but you must register (free) in order to apply for listings posted here. At the time of review the number of jobs was small but there were some very good jobs covering numerous jobs within this market, including IT and accounting positions.

You do not need to register in order to search and view job listings. The site also offers sample resumes, information on cover letters and resume construction, career articles, and much more.

Ajilon

Among Ajilon's many divisions you'll find one specializing in the temporary and permanent placement of premier accounting, finance and bookkeeping professionals. I found the job search feature on the front page to be a bit unwieldy, but selecting merely one criteria (branch location, job title, or job type) produced lists you could easily scan for the other criteria. Good jobs listed, and the organization offers a nice (free) salary guide along with job search and career advice.

American Banker.Com

...magazine of the financial industry featuring daily updates and industry news. Loads of great info. The CareerZone is operated in conjunction with bankjobs.com, but you need a free password to search the database, and to get the password you must submit your resume. Substantial amount of free information here, but those who want to subscribe will get two weeks free and can cancel within that time without paying anything.

AICPA (American Institute for Certified Public Accountants)

...the national professional organization for Certified Public Accountants. Job listings are publicly accessible on the website under "Career Resources."

American Payroll Association

...news and information for these professionals, and jobs and information for those seeking new careers.

Association for Finance Professionals

...individuals representing a broad spectrum of financial disciplines. Career Services offers terrific resources for association members, including networking groups. The Online Job Center is also offered through Career Services, and anyone willing to register will be allowed to view and apply to jobs in the database, regardless of AFP membership. When you post you resume, you have the option of allowing employers to search your resume in the database, but if you would prefer there is an option for "do not advertise my resume". Spherion, the recruiting services firm, is a partner in the Job Center.

Bankjobs.com

...job and career information for banking and financial services candidates. Free registration is required, which includes posting your resume. This service is limited to residents of the U.S. and Canada, and all candidates must meet the educational or experience requirements noted. They offer a nice list of industry links for all visitors.

CareerBank

...jobs in accounting, finance, and banking. Search by state, company, or keyword. You do not need to register your resume to apply online through this site. They operate several career sites for various associations, and your resume posted on one site they operate might be included in their main database here, so read their privacy policy carefully.

CFO.com

...features content from CFO Magazine, CFO Europe, and CFO Asia. The site includes international news, articles, resources, and featured jobs for chief financial officers (CFOs), treasurers, and other senior financial executives in the U.S. and Canada. There are several articles here on salaries for CFOs. To find them, do a search on the word "salary".

..."Jobs and Career Management in the Financial Markets, Banking & Finance." This site is loaded with international news for those in finance, accounting, and banking. Note that word "international" -- there are not a lot of listings here for positions in the Americas. It is a powerhouse for financial professionals seeking employment in the rest of the world, offering job listings, research resources, and career advice. Check out the "Day In The Life..." features for profiles of real folks in real jobs. For the fastest search, select a job area from the front page. Otherwise, you can use the Advanced search to look for jobs in specific regions or go through the list of employers recruiting for new talent. Jobs can be viewed and applied for without registering.

Employment Atlanta

...recruiting / staffing firm based in Atlanta, specializing in Accounting and Finance professionals. They do have a few "other" listings in non- financial fields.

Financial Planning Association

"The Financial Planning Association is the membership organization for the financial planning community. It was created when the Institute of Certified Financial Planners (ICFP) and the International Association for Financial Planning (IAFP) merged. Members include individuals and companies who have contributed to building the financial planning profession and all those who champion the financial planning process." Great resource for financial planners or those considering pursuing this field. (Certification info is included). Job seekers will want to look at the Career Center area under Career & Practice.

GAAPWeb

Search the latest available Finance and Accountancy jobs from over 400 financial recruiters in the UK. You can search by keyword or try the "quick pick" categories on the front page. This is a great site, filled with excellent listings, and you can review the full details without having to register.

International Market Recruiters

...specializes in permanent and consultative placements exclusively in the financial services arena. You can review some of their current searches and submit your resume for consideration in the search.

Jacobson Group

...a recruiting and staffing firm for the insurance, healthcare, and financial services sector. They perform executive searches as well as mid-level and interim opportunities. Job seekers can review current openings on their website or submit a resume for consideration in future searches. Their consultants have also authored several good articles on job searching and career management, and these are freely available under the "New and Events" section of the site.

...job and career information for financial professionals. Check the Company Gallery for a list of employers/firms posting here, plus quick links to their listings. Review the Career Resources for employer profiles from Wetfeet.com and industry research from BLS. The Finance News lists top headlines in several areas (select the channel that interests you.) The Financial Links will take you to more resources, and they have some partnering links for training for accountants and securities professionals. They list many good financial jobs covering an extensive international market. You can search the jobs without registering, but registering and storing your resume here will make it easier to apply to jobs. They want you to add a "cover letter" to each application, so have a template available that you can cut, paste, and customize. JobsintheMoney was purchased by eFinancialCareers in late 2003, but I do not think they will be making any major changes here.

...this site claims to be a career management service, not a job board. You create a free account and fill out your confidential profile, set your preferences as to the types of employers and opportunities you are willing to consider, establish your privacy and status (i.e., availability) settings, then sit back and wait to be matched to potential opportunities. If you like what is presented to you, then you can opt to allow the hiring manager to review your full profile. I gleaned all of this from their public data; you must register to see the interior of the site. OneWire is based in New York City and has a public domain registration but no contact data on the website, so be sure you are comfortable with this site before you register. If you are a user of this site, I would be very interested in your opinion of the service.

...a portal to jobs in the insurance industry. Browse listings by company name, industry segment, product line, or region. What they have done is not create a new board but instead created a listing of virtually all participants in this industry along with links to their employment listings.

...UK-based site for the insurance industry. It is amazingly easy to get right into the jobs for any specific job area. You do not need to register to apply for jobs through this site, but if you find a lot of stuff here you may find it easier to keep a resume here. They won't make it "public" unless you say they can.

...jobs for insurance and finance professionals, very nice jobs and a large number of them. You have the option of not registering here when applying for openings listed here.

National Insurance Recruiters Association

...an association of recruiting firms specializing in the insurance industry. This site includes job listings by department, recruiters by department, and recruiters by industry. Each job listing is less than 60 days old, and you contact the specific recruiter handling the placement directly.

Underwriting Search Consultants

...an executive search firm dedicated to the search and recruitment of professionals in the Insurance and Financial Services industry. "We specialize in Life Insurance, Property and Casualty, Accident and Health Insurance, Reinsurance, Managed Care, Structured Finance, Mortgage and Banking." National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders

NAGGL was formed in 1984 in response to a host of issues, including a White House attempt to dismantle and disband the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and its loan programs like the 7(a) program. "NAGGL serves the needs and represent the interests of the small business lending community that utilizes SBA and other government guaranteed loan programs. [...] Government guaranteed lending encompasses everything from home loans to student financial aid." Among the many training programs and information sources found on their website, SBA lending professionals can check out the NAGGL Job Bank for current openings.

You can look around all you want, but when you find a job to which you want to apply you will need to register (free), but this will also allow you to save your resume and set up job alerts. They don't tell you this, but if you don't make any selections in the search form, you will get all of them. I selected to see only jobs posted by employers with no other criteria, and I found over 2500 at the time of review from all over the world. These are excellent positions with highly recognizable employers. Down the left column, click on Associations and Support to find a nice list of resources relevant to this industry and area of expertise.

QUANTster

"Jobs in quantitative analytics & trading, financial engineering, risk management." They have sections for Quantitative Finance, Corporate Finance, Banking, and Accounting in the US, although I did see some recruiters posting for international positions.

Risk Manager Talent Pool

"The Risk Manager Talent Pool offers qualified managers and graduates free access to exclusive job opportunities plus a wealth of knowledge about potential employers and risk management." You can look at the jobs posted here, but you must register (free) in order to apply for any you see. The registration also gives you access to services like a social network, special online recruiting events, and the ability to keep your identity confidential while apply for jobs listed here. The postings here are a bit limited right now (it is a highly specialized field), but the Knowledge section of the site includes very good current news items of interest to professionals in this field as well as those hoping to enter this field.

...the online companion to Risk, the only magazine truly dedicated to the business of all aspects of financial risk management and the global derivatives markets. Check out the Risk Career Center, a public source for jobs in this area operated in cooperation with eFinancialCareers.com

...job listings and resume postings for tax professionals. Nice listings in all specialties and at all levels, including self-employed. The only downside is you must register in order to apply for these positions, but since you get to search and review the listings before registering (and registration is free) you do have the opportunity to decide if this site is good for you. Nice career tools, and nice sample resignation letter (thinking good thoughts I guess).

Careers in Tax

...targeted to the tax professional, this site offers job listings (small at the time of review), lists of tax consulting firms and staffing firms, and some other resources for you. Registration is not necessary to view the jobs or search other areas of the site but might be required for applying to some listings.
