The FAQs include sections for first year college students, a section for others considering pursuing medicine (even if you are already a college grad), info on preparing for med school, the MCAT, and much more. ...an information and news resource covering hospitals and other medical facilities. There is some information on the variety of jobs available in hospitals (not all are in medical fields) as well as volunteering at a hospital, but medical professionals will appreciate the information on specific institutions (under Hospitals, not Hospital).
LifeWorks
From the Office of Science Education at NIH, LifeWorks is a wonderful tool to use for exploring careers in science and healthcare -- not just medical fields but also engineering and scientific fields with relationships to health, medicine, and research. You can browse over 100 career descriptions by title, education required, interest area, or median salary (it's not just the MDs in those upper earning brackets). You can also use their Career Finder to help you find the best work for you based on you interests and skills. And, for those of you who already know what you want to do, there's advice on planning your education, starting as early as the 8th grade.
Medical Career Info
...it isn't new information, but it is all collected into a central location that is easy to read. This site was compiled by a nurse and several young adults interested in healthcare professions. The text is from the Occupational Outlook Handbook, and there are some big omissions (like M.D.), but most of the professions collected here do not require education / training beyond a bachelor's degree (note that I said "most"). Many do not require education / training beyond a 2-year degree, which makes this a good list for some who are considering this field but are unsure of how much they'd like to invest in or who are considering career changes that do not require a major investment in a bachelors or masters degree.
Association of American Medical Colleges

This association represents the many accredited medical schools in the US and Canada, the teaching hospitals, the academic and professional societies for this field, and the medical students and residents. ...nice, simple site for finding jobs in hospitals across the US. Yes, you can try the Google search box, but I much prefer to select my target state then browse the list of hospitals. You can connect to the website of each, the job listings (if they post online), or just write down the contact address / phone and submit a resume or CV the old fashioned way.
AMI Healthcare Inc.

Jobs cover North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia, but at the time of review the vast majority were in the Middle East. Merely scroll down the front page for the best view of the listings by job category. You will be required to register and submit a resume in Word in order to apply for any of the openings listed here, but you can look at the listings without registering.

They also handle locum tenens and a number of closed searches, so placing your resume in their database will expand your opportunities.

Don't skip other information sources here, like the searchable Chiro Directory of doctors and the Important Links under Dynamic Chiropractic Online.

They promoted standards of care and ethics in practice for all members. I'm listing this firm here because their focus is on those of you with a background in nursing who have moved (or are ready to move) into leadership and management positions.
HRN Services Inc.
...a healthcare support service organization, offering numerous opportunities for travel nurses and other allied healthcare professionals in a variety of staffing models (per diem, travel, local travel, etc.). Information on all of these models are available under the Assignments category, and under Gateway to Travel you can even review some current opportunities. HRN Services is based in California and has offices in several Western states, but the opportunities they offer cover the entire US. You can learn more about the company, the assignments, and the standards for employment on their website. You can also submit an application here.

...focused exclusively on nursing and allied healthcare jobs, and you do not need to create an account to search the site. You can opt to search by specialty and state on the front page, but many of the specialties have few or no listings so I recommend selecting "All Nurse Specialites" at the bottom of the page and then working from there. If you do opt to use the search form on the front page, your results list will include a link to "All specialties" so you can browse other listings easily. The Recruiters Directory lists firms who specialize in the placement of nurses across the US. You can sign up for automatic job updates by email.

Onward Healthcare
...recruitment and placement agency working to place nurses in positions across the US. They will assist qualified Canadian nurses in finding work in the US and obtaining the necessary visas to work here. They have some nursing positions listed on the website, but they seem to work more at asking you to send in a resume so they can look at it. Use their registration form to send in your info (cut and paste your resume into the form).

The site has a list of links to each state's licensing agency. These are free services, but I did not review the registration form. The site operator is in Naples, FL.
WorkingNurse
"WorkingNurse.com is the companion website to Working Nurse magazine, which has been direct mailed to the RNs in Southern California since 2003. [...] WorkingNurse.com is brought to you by Rhodes Publications, Inc, which has 20 years experience in the recruitment advertising field." These folks also operate WorkingWorld.com, an employment source for the Los Angeles area. There are several good jobs listed here covering primarily California and Arizona but also featuring a few other locations in the US. You do not need to register for this free site unless you want to save jobs you've seen for later, keep track of jobs for which you've applied, and store resumes and cover letters for quick applications. Lots of great articles with good advice on life, work, and what's happening in this field.

The site includes information on this field, including notes specifically for students, and offers terrific career services for practitioners in the field.
International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine

RadCareers
...free job listings and resume postings for radiology technologists, radiation oncologists, diagnostic imaging, and other radiation specialists. Their info says you must register and post your resume in order to view full job info, but at the time of review we could see the full announcements without registering.

Sports Medicine

American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)
"The American College of Sports Medicine is the world's largest multidisciplinary sports medicine and exercise science organization. [...] ACSM is internationally known as the leading source of state-of-the-art research and information on sports medicine and exercise science." Membership is open to "anyone who has earned a bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree at an accredited institution in a field related to health, physical education or exercise science; or, anyone who has earned at least a bachelor's degree in another area, but is working in a field related to sports medicine or exercise science." This includes the persons who train the trainers, the trainers themselves, the doctors who treat you, and anyone else who works with you like dietitians, therapist, and the like. The Career Center is open for all to search, but the "Apply Online" feature only works if you are registered (also free for all).
