There are job and resume databases.
..."founded by the North American wholesale and retail baking

search for recruiters matching your criteria, but I think the browsing will get you
what you want. For each state, you'll find recruiters who work with clients in that
state, not just those located there. Under each recruiter's listing you'll find contact
info and a link to the firm's website. NIce job search tips.
...information on the various job possibilities in the restaurant field, employment outlook, scholarships, and much more. And then there's the jobs. The association has joined with Hcareers.com to offer a great source for jobs in all aspects of restaurant/food management and at all levels (entry to C-suite). All users are welcome to search, select, and apply for jobs listed here without registering nor joining the association. If you decide to post a resume in the database, please note that it is being posted to Hcareers.com, not Restaurant.org. The jobs listed here are also found on the Hcareers.com website, but this is a nice targeted list. No, it is not limited to the US, and the non-US postings I reviewed did specify that the applicant must provide his/her own work permit and there were some bilingual requirements, so be aware of this.
"Founded in 1918, the Retail Bakers of America (RBA), [this] not-for-profit trade association is committed to the success of the retail baking industry." This organization works to match buyers and sellers and it also offers training and certification programs. There is a Job Center, but at the time of review it was not working. ...founded in 1993, this association offers a variety of networking, professional and support services
to members. Membership is open to any woman in the restaurant business - a chef, an owner, a server, a
sommelier or a manager. They offer networking opportunities, a mentoring program for members,
reduced member fees for students and hourly beginning restaurant professionals, and
scholarships and internships.
...here's an idea that is growing in popularity. Rather than eat out every
night because they are too busy to cook, people are hiring personal chefs to come to
the house once a week and prepare a week's worth of food! Doesn't this sound like
an interesting business to get into? Use their "Find a Personal
Chef" search to see if there is someone in your area. If you are an experienced
cook (or want to give it a try), contact them about training materials and
information to help get your business established. They also have recipes
for members along with links for the rest of us.
...another good resource for those interested in entering this growing field
or those interested in hiring someone in this field! There are FAQs to review,
biographies of other personal chefs to read, and other resources to tap if you
think this is for you. Yes, they do want you to buy their educational materials,
but there is a lot here you can review before committing to this step. One of
the biggest thing I see is the opportunity to speak with and work with a mentor.
This way, you can learn what the business really entails before you make a big
personal investment and continue to learn while you work. They say all it really
takes is a true love of cooking for you to enjoy this kind of work, but having a
few special recipes and a willingness to experiment probably won't hurt.
...a US company providing personal chef services nationwide. If you are in this field, they
are recruiting for restaurant-quality chefs to provider personal services to busy families as
well as chefs willing cater special events. Sounds like an excellent opportunity for the chef
who wants to move away from restaurants without moving away from this service.
"Established in 1953, the Educational Institute is the premier source for delivering quality hospitality education, training and professional certification that serves the needs of hospitality schools and industries worldwide. Both sites are operated by Goodwin and Associates Hospitality Services, LLC, in Concord (NH).

The Job Search form is easy to use. Select the Industries that interest you (or stick
with "All"), select the Position Categories that interest you (or stick with "All"),
indicate if you are looking for Management, Non-management, or either, then choose
your locations (for the US this includes several popular Caribbean and Pacific
vacation locations, but "All" is again an option, and you have International options
here too). Folks willing to or wanting to relocate to a new country will appreciate this feature.
The list of International countries in the Job Search form has an indicator showing
that "Jobs from these countries are willing to get work permits." Registration is required
only if you want to use their one-button "Reply Online" or set up a Job Detective agent
for yourself. While many listings here include the contact information for applications,
some do not.
"Canada's online resource dedicated to job seekers and employers in the hospitality industry." Not all industry categories had listings at the time of review, but we did see good listings. Non-Canadian workers are encouraged to apply as there are employers willing to help sponsor your work visas should you qualify. Visitors can search the site,
review job listings, and forward resumes if employer contact information is visible, but registered users (free) can store a resume for employers to search and set up email notifications.

.."summer and permanent jobs on Dude Ranches and Fly Fishing Lodges."
What else can I say? You can easily search the jobs and read more information
about the ranches and lodges here. If you choose to search by Start Date, you
will see all jobs that start after the date chosen, so March 2005 will give you all
listings that start in March, April, May, June, or later. If this site interests you,
you may also want to look at our listings for Seasonal / Kinda Cool Opportunities.
...features worldwide resort jobs with ski and snowboard resorts, camps, national parks, cruise ships, restaurants and hotels." Many of these are seasonal positions, but the competition for some can be fierce. If you think you want to work in something like this, then start looking early. To use the site's "Apply Now" feature you will need to register and create a resume (free), but most of the listings had contact information for the employers. ResortJobs.com is part of the AboutJobs network, and creating an account here also creates them for the other sites in this network. You can sign up for the free
AboutJobs eNewsletter without creating an account. This includes career news, job hunting tips, site announcements, and links to new employment listings posted in their databases. Marvelous information here on International employment issues for both US and non-US candidates!
..."one of the world's leading spa, fitness, and leisure consulting and management

..."launched in December of 2005 to enable the Outdoor, Bicycle, Winter and Snow Sports, Action Sports, Fishing and Hunting Industries' job seekers and employers to network and connect. In these particular industries, a passion for the outdoors is the common denominator between the job seeker and the employer." We saw all sorts of jobs here, from marketing and senior execs to instructors and bicycle repair experts. You do not need to register in order to apply. Nice lists of resources for the various industries.
Tips and pointers from industry veteran Neil Maxwell-Keys (Work on Cruise Ships, below) on how to avoid being ripped off in your attempt to get a job on a cruise ship.
CruiselinesJobs.com is free guide to obtaining employment on cruise ships, as well as a reality check into what you can expect of your life as a cruise ship employee. And remember, you are onboard as an employee, not a tourist. The site is filled with articles, advice, and a long list of scams and scammers you should be aware of (and avoid!), and lists of the recruitment agencies who work for the cruise lines! This site partners with All Cruise Jobs, a free resource with current openings in the worldwide cruise industry (registration required, but you can do a lot of searching and reviewing prior to registering). Both are opeated by Webix, based in the UK.
This site, operated by industry expert Neil Maxwell-Keys, offers a lot of information and advice on this work environment, including how to get those jobs. There is a lot of free information here, but there is even more (including job listings) available to paying members. Unsure if you want to make the investment? Consider their one-week trial membership for $1. I did a lot of background searching on these guys and did not come up with anything negative. Plus they were recommended by the folks behind CruiselinesJobs.com (their competition), so that is a pretty good statement.
...operated by Dan Ackermann, who himself has nearly 30 years experience as purser and later as hotelmanager on numerous cruise ships from different shipping companies, this site is a gathering of resources for persons considering a cruise vacation as well as those interested in working in this industry. On the employment side there are no jobs listed here, but there are links to those who are valuable sources and resources for jobs. Under "Jobs", go for the Address-Service and look at everyone who operates cruises or ferries (2 separate lists). Please note that this is just a sub-set of the full Address-Service list you can access from the left-side navigation menu on all pages. Then, go back to the Jobs list and select Job-Links to view lists of the recruitment agencies as well as service suppliers (medical, catering, personal care, etc.) for even more potential employment contacts. All free!
...operated by Seamax International Cruise Ship Employment Services of Ontario, this site offers you a lot of information about the cruise industry, including profiles of the cruise lines and the various positions on and off-shore. The position descriptions include salary information, or notices of those positions which are not usually paid but are exchanged for the cruise plus room and board. Read the Frequently Asked Questions and everything else here before you decide to fill in and submit an application as the fee ($49 US) is non-refundable and there is no guarantee that you will get a job.
"Founded in 1999, Alden & Associates, Inc. provides executive search and consulting services to colleges and universities. [...] The firm focuses on executive search, with primary specializations in athletics administrators, head coaches, chief of staff/presidential assistants and general counsel search work." You can review some of the current searches they are handling as well as some recent searches they closed. Qualified Athletic Administrators and Senior Administrators are welcome to Join the Database (submit a resume) for consideration for future searches.
....offering the training necessary for you to get a job in sports management,
but they also offer executive search and placement services for their clients and
their graduates.
...an executive search and consulting firm specializing in the sports industry, both
commercial and collegiate. NLES places mid- to senior-level executives in all types of sports-related businesses.
...fee-based site with numerous job listings in the sports industry. You can look at a sample list of what's currently listed, but you will need to register and provide a credit card to get a good look at what's here OR you can do a sample scan in something like Indeed.com which seems to have found a few of the JobsInSports.com listings elsewhere. Of course, they still don't have any real info, but if you can decipher the job title you might have an idea of who is doing the recruiting. But if this is your gig, consider the 1 week trial for just under $10. Just remember to cancel by the end of the 7th day or your credit card will be charged for monthly memberships.
Employment opportunities in and information on the sport and leisure industry in the UK.
You can search the listings without registering, but you will need to register to view the job details and apply for any positions that interest you. They cover England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Eire, and "International", but England is the best covered region. Nice career information and lots of links to clubs, resorts, etc., for you to review

...offers numerous sports job training programs, specially designed to get you started in a sports job or advance your sports career. If you are interested in a job in sports management, agent management, and many other areas, this may be one way to get your foot in the door. These are not free courses, so ask questions, evaluate your options, and be sure this is what you want before registering.
You all know how I feel about fee-based job boards -- they must offer a service that justifies the fee in order for me to add it to my site. Well, this is one of those sites that truly gives you what you pay for, namely extensive listings of extremely good jobs in the all facets of the sports industry with the top names in the industry as well as the sports world. As an added bonus, you can review some areas without registering (Featured Jobs, List of Employers, Upcoming Events), and you can also look at the jobs database for free just by filling out an extremely limited registration form (name, email, target position). What you can't see is who is hiring for this position. To get that info you need to pay for access. Your paid membership includes posting a resume, setting up email alerts, access to their Sports Industry Contact Directory, and more. At the time of review there were over 2200 jobs in the database. You can select for how long you want to be a member, but I recommend a minimum 4 weeks to really give this site a try.
Founded in 1974 by Billie Jean King, this foundation works to advance the lives of girls and women through sport and physical activity. They link to information on grants and scholarships for people who want to start programs or pursue education, but my favorite page is their Work in Women's sport with its lists of careers in sports and related careers. You can also check out the WSF Job and Career Board from AthleticLink.com. Info on jobs and athletic competitions.
...over 5000 links to anything and everything baseball from Little League to the Majors.
Get info on all the parks, check out the fantasy leagues, and get info on becoming an

...nice looking site for this industry. Like the others, you will have to register to gain access to the listings, but registration is free and you can see a list of the employers, position titles, and locations before you register to get an idea of what is here. One quibble -- at the time of review many of the job categories in the Category Quick Search on the
front page had no listings. Empty lists really bug me. And while I appreciate the
"golf terminology" on the front page, I'd rather just see "register here" instead of "1st tee."
Not as large as some of the other sites, but looks good.
...jobs in golf, if you didn't already figure that out. Jobs as pros, jobs in sales, jobs in your local sporting goods stores, etc. And the site is free. You do not need to create a free account to search and apply for the openings posted here, but creating that free account will simplify your application in some cases, allow you to track your applications, and let you set up email alerts. This site has been revised and is now owned/operated by Brian Weis, an avid golfer with a background in job/career services online.
...a resource for jobs in the Golf Industry, and a big industry it is! Along with the
job listings, this site offers career advice and industry news, but everything is behind
the firewall. You must register and pay to access the listings and everything else
except for the industry news. I guess if you are the next golf pro for the Congressional
Country Club in MD, you want to pay that fee.
...someone has to train, feed, house, manage, webify, and even market all those athletes, and this is where you can find your chance to make our Dream Team operate like a well-oiled machine. There are jobs and internships with the USOC, and then there are Olympic Sports Jobs. These are not USOC jobs but jobs as trainers, etc., with the respective sport governing bodies. Separate applications, so take note. Also take note that not everything requires a background in sports! They need webheads and finance folks too.
...the world's largest association of travel professionals, including travel agents as well as

The Job Board is open to the public, but you must register to enter. Persons considering

...good site with travel and tourism positions in the travel industry. Categories include
Travel and Tour Operators, Hospitality / Cruise, and Resorts / Mountains / Activities with numerous job fields in each,
like Airline Cabin Crew, Hotel Managers, and Chalet Host /
Assit. Review the Job Vacancies, or select the Employer Vacancies or
Agency Vacancies to select the employer that interests you and check just their listings.
This is a non-U.S. website and contains very few jobs in North America. Most of the
positions specify citizenship and/or work permit requirements. While the site is free
and you can easily review the listings, you must register your CV to apply for positions,
and part of that application is verifying if you have EU citizenship / work permits.
