- ...offers direct hire, temp to hire, and temporary staffing solutions at all levels of employment. They specialize in, but are not limited to, careers in the Pharmaceutical, Chemical and Plastics Industries. They are focused on Southeast Wisconsin and Illinois but have nationwide connections. Interested job seekers can review a short list of current positions but all should feel free to submit a resume since not everything is on the website.
- DRM Inc., a.k.a. Arby's
- Yes, Arby's, the famous fast food restaurant chain. DRM inc operates over 70 Arby's restaurants in Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin, and they are hoping you'll consider working with them! From this site you can fill in a "Prospective Employee Contact Form" so they can contact you, but you can also email them your current resume along with a note as to the specific position and location/city that interests you. They even have a mobile accessible application for those of you who use your mobile for everything.

- ...job board for the region covering MN, IA, ND, SD, NE, and WI.
You can easily search the listings by keyword, but I prefer browsing
by job type. They also have many articles and other fun features
to entertain and inform.

area (South Bend, IN, St. Joseph, MI, are samples of the cities included here).
"Michiana" actually covers about 15 counties between the 2 states.
The "search jobs" section shows you the most recent 10 postings, but
put in some keywords to find what was posted before this. It's small but

The Chicago Public Library offers library patrons free access to a wealth of information in order to search for a new career or job. CPL simplifies the job search process by connecting patrons seeking employment with free tools including Internet access, books, databases and computer training. Job seekers may target their employment searches, assess their skill sets, and discover free resources available at the Library. If you have a CPL Borrowing Card (which is free) and computer access at home, school, or work, then you can connect to many of their
electronic resources via the web. If you need a library card or computer access, stop by your closest branch where free computers and helpful CyberNavigators who are ready and willing to help you.
- Barrington Career Center (Barrington IL)
- ..."a volunteer-driven and non-profit organization dedicated to helping people help themselves
as they develop search strategies and skills, and conduct an effective job search." There
is a small one-time fee charged for use of the facilities, but persons who are unable to make
that payment can volunteer to assist in the center.
- Chicago Public Schools
- CPS is actively recruiting elementary and secondary school teachers. The site features information about
Alternative Certification Programs and other resources of interest to teachers. Interested individuals can apply online.
- Career Resource Center (Lake Forest, IL)
- ..."To assist anyone experiencing employment transition." There is a minimal start-up
fee for new clients and returning alumni involved in a new search, but all other services
are free.
- Gregory Laka & Company
- Established in Chicago in 1964, Gregory Laka & Company is one of the oldest executive search firms in the country. They also offer contingency recruiting for numerous industries and positions. Their contingency listings are available on their website, and qualified candidates can apply directly for consideration in any. They also welcome
resumes from candidates who do not see anything currently listed.

- Senior Employment Center, a division of Mature Services, Akron OH
- "The Senior Employment Center provides community-based services to train, motivate and empower mature job-seekers while maintaining an active partnership with employers leading to increased opportunities for mature workers." The headquarters is in Akron, but they serve 45 counties in Ohio from 15 offices. Their funding comes from the US Dept of Labor and the Workforce Investment Act. There are a variety of services available to mature job seekers, including job fairs in Akron and Cleveland, and training in computer use.
