You may create an account and submit your CV to this site where it may be viewed by recruiters who have been granted access. This free, but it is not required in order to search and submit applications for the positions listed here.

But it also lists jobs for support personnel and even government jobs that require strong academic skills. Really wonderful academic and scientific resource. The "regional" portals are customized as to language and news, and the regional job and career areas include specific employment and career advice along with the job listings, such as the myScience.us portal. Terrific sites!
...a network for scientists designed to permit better communication between researchers and encourage research collaboration. In this way, it is like an expanded LinkedIn for the scientific community. Registration permits you to connect with others in your field or in complementary fields from around the world, participate in discussions, and review the full text of research articles posted here. They also have an extensive Jobs Board with academic position announcements, post doc fellowships, and funding opportunities from around the world. Registration is not necessary to access these listings.
...a database of nothing but postdoctoral positions. The listings are open for all to view, but registering (free) will allow you to sign up for an e-mail notification list and other services and does not require you to post your CV. There are other good resources to review, including information for non-U.S. citizens interesting in positions in this country. advancement of astronomy and related sciences. The association’s website offers the public
access to several good career resources, including the AAS Job Register and a guide to careers
in Astronomy.
"advancing research and education in the biological sciences." Great info for students in this field as well as general career information for anyone considering studies in biology. Check out the Action Bioscience, their free-access bilingual (English / Spanish) Web site, focused on topical issues in biodiversity, the environment, evolution, biotechnology, genomics, new frontiers, and education. And yes, they have Classified Ads.

things of interest to microbiologists. I like the "hot germ news" and "disease
watch" sections. Links to all kinds of good information for folks interested
in or involved in this field, including several good job sites.

microbiology. You can help solve microbe mysteries, do some online
experiments, read about microbes in the news, and find out why and when
you should really wash your hands (oh gross!). Finally, you can check out

...an index of over 8,075 chemistry resources on the web, provided by
the Department of Chemistry at the University of Liverpool. Use with some caution as there are no dates to indicate when the pages were updated and under "Careers" I see some resources which have not been in existence for some time.
...part of the Organic Chemistry Portal, this list of jobs is divided into North American and European jobs. The webmaster says he tries to public vacancies in R&D, and I am seeing a very good list of well-known international organizations.
You only see a couple of listings for each region on the front page. Select "More Vacancies" to see the full list for this region. Each listing includes the contact application information, most of which require you to go to the hiring organization's website to apply. They post announcements for 2 months, but you can see the date of posting for each position. The listings include internships, fellowships, and other positions that did not require a Ph.D.
...nice collection of organic chemistry jobs from this site geared toward organic chemists involved in academic or industrial research. Besides the jobs, fellowships, etc., there are loads of links to journals, databases, dissertation collections, reviews, guides, patents, and current awareness sources. The resources for laboratory work
include links to chemical product databases, laboratory safety bulletins (in pdf),
products and services, etc.
... the society hosts listings for jobs and internships in entomology. If you are interested in studying bugs or just want to figure out what these people really do, guides to entomology, the work of entomologists, Frequently Asked Questions and more can be found under Resources.
The Department of Entomology at Texas A&M University posts listings for openings in this field, including assistantships. They also link to other web sites that list job openings in this and related fields.

programs leading to this field, and much more. This is a very rich resource.
...a nonprofit professional society devoted to the
improvement of crime laboratory operations through
sound management practices. Their site includes information
on meetings, accreditation of labs, links to additional forensic
societies, and jobs.
How do you get into this field? This well-organized website offers very good advice on the topic along with interviews of forensic artists, informatin on training, career information, and much more. By the way, forensic artists are not graphic artists who also dabble in criminal investigation. They are law enforcement specialists who also assist with this facet of investigation. The author, Lisa Bailey, is an experienced forensic artist but did not start in that field. AAFA can also be found on Facebook.

"Founded in 1883, the American Ornithologists' Union is one of the oldest and largest organizations in the world devoted to the scientific study of birds. Although the AOU primarily is a professional organization, its membership of about 3,000 includes many amateurs dedicated to the advancement of ornithological science." Scan the "Resources" area for information on careers in this field.
Information on how to subscribe to the BirdJobs-L listserv as well as announcements of openings for postdocs, reserve managers, hawk watch coordinators, bird banders, wildlife biologists, interns, etc etc etc. Many positions are temporary or seasonal and do not mention degree requirements as much as experience. The main website links to all the member societies (also terrific). Great for wildlife specialists as well as seasoned enthusiasts.
...for those of you interested in the study of birds, this is a marvelous site.
The person who put this information together is Dr. Roger Lederer, a Professor of Biological
Sciences at California State University, Chico. As he notes in this article,
most ornithologists do not work exclusively with birds but may be ecologists,
wildlife biologists, or persons from other fields. It is an interesting article,
with suggestions for education and occupational information. The rest of his
site includes some wonderful information for the bird-minded individual. There are
a lot of ads, but you can work around them.
Founded in 1958, AAPM is a scientific and professional organization composed of more than 7000 scientists (medical physicists) whose clinical practice is dedicated to ensuring accuracy, safety and quality in the use of radiation in medical procedures such as medical imaging and radiation therapy. The site includes information on this field, including notes specifically for students, and offers terrific career services for practitioners in the field.

...formed in 1956, this is a scientific organization of professionals who specialize in radiation safety. Its nearly 6,000 members "represent all scientific and technical areas related to radiation safety including academia, government, medicine, research and development, analytical services, consulting, and industry in all 50 states and the District of Columbia." Members include health care professionals in radiology and nuclear medicine as well as physicists who work at nuclear power plants. The society has produced a very nice brochure with information on careers in health physics, and college students can find information on fellowships and travel grants on the site. Society members have access to an online job board, plus some jobs are listed in the month Health Physics News newsletter.
