I met an anthropologist back in 1994 who was studying the effect of the Internet and electronic journals and the perception of Information Overload on chemists. This web site includes information on meetings, publications, careers, and even job listings. Many are in academic institutions, but not all!

People who are not specialists in Buddhist Studies can access messages from H-Buddhism through this web site, but they can neither subscribe nor post their own messages. Subscription information and discussion lists are available at the H-Net site, along with a list of job openings. These cover numerous fields, such as Asian art history and religious studies.

Linguistics & Language Skills

Includes ESL / EFL and Interpreters for the Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
American Translators Association
...an association representing translating professionals. Among other things it offers is an accreditation exam which demonstrates your professional expertise. They also offer supportive resources for translators.
English Job Maze
...international employment listings and resources for ESL/EFL teachers. Yes, it offers you the usual "search for jobs / post your resume" stuff, but then it expands into unique resources designed to really aid these professionals in their search for opportunities. There's the "Countries @ a Glance" with specifics and resources on what it's like to work in .... "There's the Qualifications @ a Glance" with information and links to all of the various ESL/EFL qualification/certification programs around the world. And then there are the numerous Top 10 lists, including Top 10 CV Tips with things like "be specific about your qualification/certification." Very nice!
The ESL Cafe's Job Center
...wonderful list of resources for these educators. The Job Center includes jobs wanted, jobs posted, a Korean job board, a place for ESL/EFL teachers to talk to each other, a journal of job experiences, a teacher training forum, and links to even more resources.
ESL Employment
...certainly offers a lot of free employment listings for ESL / EFL jobs, but you must register (you can view jobs before registering). Registration looks simple, but I cannot find a privacy policy posted. However, lots of jobs all over the world.
ESLJobs.com
...jobs for teachers of English as a second or foreign language. The site is divided into world regions, or you can opt to look at all recent ads. They do note the date of posting for all ads, which is good because it looks like they post them for 1000 days. Registration is not required but they really encourage you to fill in the form.
Jobs Using Languages
...as you all know, I tend to stay away from sites operated by individuals who do not appear to have any real background in the employment / career industry. I am making an exception here, because this individual has set up a site with links to search of specific websites for jobs requiring skills in specific languages. You can see the sites to be searched, and the search string used, and it is a pretty easy way to do a quick check to see who needs your language expertise.
TeslJobs.com
...not a recruiter but a location for the posting of jobs for Teachers of English as a Second Language plus resumes, resources, and discussion forums. While the contact info on this free site is limited to an email address, the domain registration info shows the name and address of the operator (Nova Scotia, Canada). However, you do not need to register even if you want to post a resume/CV (these will be public), and he is not the go-between for the jobs posted here, so I am not too concerned about the lack of information. I do appreciate his warning to not send credit card and bank info to employers and the many scam warnings posted on the site. Be sure to report any scams or concerns to the site operator.
Translation Industry Career Guide from Lingo24
No, not a job site, but a guide to careers in the translation industry from a provider of translation services to businesses. (Yes, they are trying to attract new talent.) Please note that this company is based in the UK so many of their suggested career resources are also based in the UK. However, the information and advice is good.
The Linguist List Jobs
...Updated almost daily, this is a terrific resource for linguists. Those searching for international jobs are encouraged to review the notes on employment standards in various countries as reported by members.
National Virtual Translation Center
Established in February 2003, NVTC is a central clearinghouse for translation services in the U.S. Government. The NVTC foreign language team consists of both full time staff members and contract linguists who live throughout the country and work from home or from designated civilian and military Government facilities, and they are recruiting new contract linguists in a variety of foreign language areas to work on non-sensitive documents. Even so, applicants may be subject to a background check.Looks like an interesting opportunity for language experts.
Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)
RID is a "national membership organization of professionals who provide sign language interpreting/transliterating services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing persons." Persons who need to hire an interpreter can find assistance here along with information on working with these professionals and becoming a certified interpreter. Membership includes access to the association's publications and services, and RID certification is not required in order for you to join this group.

You may want to review the International Employment page for more ideas and sources. There may also be some overlap with History / Classics.

Ministry & Religion

ChurchStaffing.com
...nice site advertising various positions in churches across the US and Canada. I like that they add size of church, and worship style to the job search criteria, but you can also opt to search by the many categories on the front page (scroll down to see the full list on the left). Recent ads as well as recent resumes are featured on the front page, so be prepared for a very public presence if you post your resume here. Jobs can be listed for as long as 6 months, so you may want to check that an older position is still open before applying. Smaller congregations get a break on the price of postings.
MinistryEmployment
...a job board listings jobs in Christian ministry in the US and Canada. Jobs cover the occupational spectrum from ministers to writers to business administrators, but all function in the ministry and are in organizations affiliated with various Christian faiths (schools, camps, churches) or target services and resources for this group. A free service of Providence College & Theological Seminary, Otterburne, Manitoba (Canada).
Women's Path Into Ministry: Six Major Studies by Edward C. Lehman, Jr.
This report, released by Pulpit & Pew: The Duke Center for Excellence in Ministry, "sketches the broad outlines of a woman's 'career path' into ministry, from seminary and ordination through parish placement, and examines such factors as collegiality, ministry style, and the influence of female pastoral leadership on congregants, denominations, and culture." You can read an executive summary online or download the full report in PDF format (you'll need a copy of the free Adobe Reader to view it). Women in ministry will find this interesting as will women considering a call to this profession.

We also have information on church administration and resources for Faith-based Organizations.
