Union Hiring Halls
The many unions and associations that represent persons employed in many
fields and occupations are excellent sources of information on career options as well as
what training and education is needed and where to get it.
You may also be interested in our
jobs in nonprofits and professional associations. We have many
links to individual associations and organizations under the appropriate categories on our
Job search pages.

- American Society of Association Executives
- ASAE is a terrific resource for anyone looking for association or anyone interested in
careers and jobs
with associations. Along with all the great information here, ASAE maintains
directories of
associations, suppliers, and consultants for easy search
and retrieval.
- Scholarly Societies Project
- Search or browse this list of scholarly and professional organizations on the Internet, many of whom
include career information and job listings on their web sites. One of the best projects
online, run from the University of Waterloo Library.

These are links to a few unions and union job banks available through the Internet.
- Union Jobs Clearinghouse
- ...staffing and trade/apprenticeship positions across the US. This
site was set up to centralize these position announcements. You can review the staffing listings geographically or alphabetically by posting organization. We are happy to say we are seeing numerous staffing positions as well as trades and apprenticeship listings.
- National Electrical Contractors Association
- ..."an association of more than 4,000 electrical contractors in the United States, all of whom are
members of our 118 local chapters. " They say this is the site to visit if you are
- An electrical contractor or other construction type, and want to stay updated.
- Someone who hires electrical contractors, and need to find one or more.
- Just generally interested in electrical construction
Sections include information on the association, standards, women in the
industry, careers in the industry (plus info on finding an apprenticeship),
industry trends, a searchable directory of electronic contractors, and
links to close associations.
- International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers
- ...the union representing 750,000 members across various
industries and occupations where electrical workers, wiring,
and even telephone operators can be found. Probably the
second largest union in the world and covering over 1000
individual locals. Information on upcoming work projects,
local hiring halls, and apprenticeship programs can be found
by checking their links to the locals. I have also found some
of the local hourly pay schedules on these pages, so look around.
While here, check out the IBEW Construction Jobs Board,
the official job network for the Construction Branch of the IBEW. Select your country
(US or Canada), location, scale, and/or date of posting of the job, and go. Job Calls are
posted directly by the local unions themselves. All listings contain information on whom
to contact for more information or to apply for the openings.
